Sri Healthcare-Research International (SHRI) conducted a 2 hour Global Event on World Breathing Day, which was 11th April, 2021 as part of the 36 hour Global Event by International Breathwork Foundation (IBF).
It was a small community group that had come together with the intent to reconnect and be aware of their mind-body-self connection. We all know that we have our body, our mind and our inner Self; however often because of being too involved in our stress, environment, the various everyday experiences and indulging in thoughts about future or the past, we forget and lose awareness regarding the presence and paying attention to the state of our physical body, mind and of our Self.
This event was an opportunity and a space to reconnect and be aware of physical state, state of mind and Self. Another intent of the event was to bring ourselves to the Present moment and be in the Present. In the continuing Pandemic times, it is natural for us to dwell and have stress regarding the future, and remembering our Past times before the Pandemic hit.
However, when we think of it too much, we are unable to return and remain in the Present and register what we have in the Present, the opportunities in the Present and what we can do in the Present.
Our breath helps a great deal and supports us to stay in the Present, change our state of mind, be aware of our body and inner Self. Our breath is vital for us to replenish and prosper in our Life Energy.
Our breathing pattern differs when we are in emotions, thoughts and also about our Self. Hence changing our breath pattern can also help to bring a shift in our emotions, thought pattern and present state of being.
The participants were explained the significance of breath, different breathing patterns, and how essential our breath is for our transformation and healing journey as well. We have seen it in our psychotherapy one-one practice as well, that along with other techniques, breathwork helps one to be aware, ve in the present and help to release and heal.
Along with exchanging our thoughts and learning about the wonders our breathing can do, we also had some fun, exciting activities planned in the group.
To bring the body awareness, all of us together engaged in some stretching and body movement to the tunes of some wonderful music to wake our muscles and body cells and bring them in harmony with our mind and Self to be fully present for the session.
Once the body was live and refreshed, we did some whole body relaxation followed by Affirmations and Mindfulness.
Affirmations are a great tool to direct our mind and Self Energy to the direction we want to go in the present and in our Life, and for aligning Energy of the Universe with our Self. It provides the Universe support and guidance in our intentions.
Mindfulness helps us to be aware our various states of being, our thoughts and feeling in the present without much judgment and analysis. It helps to return and sustain in the Present. Breath helps a lot in the Mindfulness process to be aware of the sates and providing the sustaining Energy.
We then engaged in Yoga Nidra which helped us to integrate all that we discussed and processed in the Event and by allowing the Life Energy through breath to flow through our body and Self and provide deep relaxation to each and every cell of our Being.
After Yoga Nidra, the participants were given 10 minutes to remain the deep relaxation state and were slowly guided to return to the conscious awareness state and ground themselves in the present moment.
We include these techniques in most of our workshops, trainings and one-one sessions as well as per the need and Energy of the client(s), however on this day we chose to specially organize and conduct this event to mark and celebrate the auspicious day of World Breathing Day with the teachings from International Breathwork Foundation (IBF).
International Breathwork Foundation (IBF) has been and continues to work relentlessly throughout the globe and with all its members to spread the knowledge and importance of breath and its wonders in the transformation and well-being of individuals, and Global peace Energy as well.
We are grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to learn from IBF and be a part of their Global event on World Breathing Day.
