1^stAntidepression movement was initiated by Sri Healthcare- Research International (SHRI) through National Conference on Recent Advancement in Depression Management ,was held on 1^st May, 2019, at N. R Sen Auditorium, Rajabazar Science College Campus under the guidance and cooperation of Prof. Sudip Kumar Das ( Head Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Calcutta ).

During Inaugural Ceremony Respected Special Guests were- Welcome Address was by Dr. Sanghamitra Sau Sengupta. Inaugural Address was by Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti (Dean, Faculty Council for Post- Graduate Students in Engineering and Technology. University of Calcutta). Address:by Prof. Sudip Kumar Das (Head Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Calcutta)and DrDebdulal Dutta Roy(Psychology Research Unit, ISI, Kolkata). Presidential Address was by Chief Guest of the Conference, Prof. Anand Kumar (President of Indian Academy of Health Psychology).

 Theme of the conference was ‘Depression & Self-harm can be treated by Medication with Psychotherapy or only by Psychotherapy depending upon the severity of illness. Can be treated and managed by Psycho-physiological Breath Energy Therapy integrating Eclectic Psychotherapy and Holistic techniques. We are able to heal disorders, diseases, Crisis contributing to overall health &well-being. Depression, Self- harm & Suicides can be prevented if we work on the causes.

Sri Healthcare-Research International (SHRI) Organized this Conference in Collaboration with Indian Academy of Health Psychology with the belief that ‘’ This conference will provide great opportunity for health psychologists , medical / health care professionals , social scientists , educationists and researchers to learn and exchange their views and experiences on the emerging trends of health psychology with goals of helping people to improve their quality of life and addressing specific health issues focused on educating people about their overall Health and well-being.’’ Delegatesfrom all over the country, 3 countries outside India participated in the Conference to discuss about the recent advancements in the management of depression and how to stop Suicides. It was rather motivating to see the enthusiasm and sincere participation of both the budding professionals’ as well as of the professionals working in the sphere of mental health.
